5 key areas where our brand stands out and creates value.
Each area represents a pillar of our identity, expressing quality, innovation, and passion.
Our holistic approach to exterior and interior design also maintains high attention to detail. This is best exemplified by our console design, which entails the creation of custom-made pieces that specifically suit the operators, workspace and equipment of each project. Through our approach, we seek to provide unique and sophisticated solutions that seamlessly integrate the concepts of furniture and technology whilst maintaining high aesthetic standards.
Our work is characterised by detailed and integrated design that is extended to all dimensions of the workspace, including environmental elements, interior design and ‘the human-machine system’, which refers to the relationship between operators and the technology they utilise.
Our approach seeks to holistically improve function and comfort within the workspace to ensure high performance in Control Building environments, which are often characterised by high-stress and extreme climates, in both regular and emergency situations.
We believe that true innovation requires a sustainability-driven approach. Thus, Spazio’s work strives to integrate sustainability within the architectural and interior design of all its projects. This ambition has led us to achieve the first ever Gold LEED certificate for Control Buildings design. Furthermore, Spazio introduced the use of green infrastructure, such as green roofs and vertical gardens, within Control Building environments. Spazio also strives to integrate water and energy efficiency measures, high indoor environmental quality measures and the use of sustainable materials in its projects.
We understand that the integration of natural elements is particularly crucial in highly artificial environments, such as those of Control Buildings, due to high pollution levels and low mental stimulation. For this reason, in addition to reducing the environmental impact of the Control Buildings, Spazio’s sustainability approach seeks to create a work environment that is designed to be healthy, as well as to improve focus and motivation.
Ergonomic design, achieved through carefully developed layouts, console design, lighting, finishes and furniture, creates acoustically correct, stimulating and functional workspaces tailored to the activities carried out in Command & Control Centres.
Spazio’s Ergonomic Design Team addresses all aspects of the interior to deliver a modern, functional and efficient working environment. Our human-centred design approach, in full compliance with ISO 11064, engages Management and Operations to identify the critical information needed as the basis for an ergonomically correct design.
Spazio acts as a visionary and a pioneer in its use of lighting within Control Rooms and Buildings.
Dynamic Lighting
Through research work carried out over the last 30 years*, Spazio created modulated lighting systems, also called Dynamic Lighting, with the aim of improving performance in 24/7 and high-stress work environments. Spazio’s Dynamic Lighting System is based on human chronobiology and circadian rhythm research, which has demonstrated that the modulation of light levels has significant impact on human efficiency and alertness.
Emotional Lighting
In addition to its use of Dynamic Lighting, Spazio also acted as a pioneer in the use of temperature colour and LED RGB colours in Control Building environments. Spazio has coined the term Emotional Lighting to refer to the use of LED RGB colours in work environments with the aim of improving stimulation and comfort for operators.
