Central Control Building, ADNOC, Hail and Gasha
Overlooking the Arabian gulf from Qatar’s capital city, our TDOC (Transmission and Distribution Operation Center & Control Room Complex) is designed to integrate the needs of a Main Operating Center of strategic importance with an ergonomic and sustainable design that enhances the wellbeing and productivity of workers.

The 360 degree pavilion and architectural composition are shaped to optimize natural light, frame views toward … (outside surroundings/ context?) and strengthen the relationship between interior and exterior spaces.

The project includes a Main Building comprising TD Control Center (CC) with a Control Room, Disaster Management Center (DMC), TD operation offices and permit section, a gate house/ security office, a Technical Plant Building and adjacent utilities areas; and roads, car parks, boundary wall, landscaping and other associated infrastructure. A dynamic, ceiling-wide lighting system illuminates the control room. Additionally, light-up, textile membrane trees have been custom-made and integrated to provide continuity, improved acoustic properties within the space and visual harmony with the futuristic interior design. Added comfort is provided by the textile membrane’s colour adjustments and light variation features.
A wall-length Video Screen (or VW?) at face-height covers one of the walls in the control room. Say more about the technology: consoles, VS wall-height? .
A clean ceiling space is provided by an AC system that is embedded in the bulkheads overseeing the offices.
In alignment with the adjective lighting, Zumtobel lamps were handpicked for the office spaces.
Tall glass windows provide natural daylight and access to the external green space and promenade. Talk about materials? More about greenery (green roofs + eco climatic benefits)
